Beaver Creek Snowmobile Tours & Rentals - Frequently Asked Questions
- Q: What is the age requirement to drive your own snowmobile?
- A: Drivers are required to be 14 years of age or older in order to drive their own snowmobile. Drivers must be 16 years of age for the High Performance Tour.
- Q: What is the minimum age requirement for children to ride as passengers on a snowmobile?
- A: Children must be age 2 or older in order to ride as passengers. All snowmobile passengers (adults and children) are seated behind the driver. For safety purposes, it is required that a passenger be able to hold on to the driver’s waist or the snowmobile’s passenger seat handlebars.
- Q: How many guests can ride on each snowmobile?
- A: Each snowmobile will accommodate a maximum of one driver and one passenger (two people total per snowmobile) regardless of passenger age.
- Q: What equipment is provided, and what should we bring with us on our tour?
- A: We provide top of the line snowmobiles, helmets, snowsuits and insulated boots. Guests should bring their own ski goggles or sunglasses for eye protection as well as a warm pair of gloves or mittens. We also highly recommend that you bring sunscreen, a neck gaitor, and your camera!
- Q: We would like to drive ourselves. How early should we arrive for our tour?
- A: We request that all guests who provide their transportation arrive 1/2 hour prior to their snowmobile tours departure time.
- Q: Is transportation provided?
- A: Yes. We provide complimentary transportation on our snowmobiling tours from the towns of Vail, Avon, Edwards, and Beaver Creek Colorado. Please call for pick-up times and locations.
- Q: Do tours require reservations?
- A: We highly recommend them! Our snowmobile tours are the most popular in the area and as a result, we have an extremely high guest demand for them. Please call in advance for reservations. Even if you’re for a same day tour, our friendly reservations staff can accommodate your needs.
- Q: What sort of safety training do your guides have?
- A: Our snowmobiling guides are the best in the business, with years of snowmobiling experience in the Rocky Mountains. We require that all employees have a minimum certification level of first aid, CPR, and backcountry safety.
- Q: I’ve never been Snowmobiling before. Do you have a tour that’s right for me?
- A: Yes! Many of our guests are going Snowmobiling in Vail or Beaver Creek for the first time. We’ll provide you with a tutorial covering the operation of your snowmobile and allow you some practice time with it prior to your tour’s departure. Call our friendly reservations staff and we’ll help you choose the tour that’s right for you based on your desired level of adventure and your location.
- Q: Which towns and ski areas do you offer tours in?
- A: We offer Snowmobiling in Vail, Beaver Creek, Avon, Edwards, Colorado, with complimentary transportation available to and from these areas to our snowmobile base camps.
- Q: Some members of our party have brought their own snowmobiles to Colorado. Can they bring their machines on a guided tour?
- A: Unfortunately, no. Our guided tours require that guests ride a snowmobile provided by the outfitter. If some group members have their own snowmobiles and others do not, the best option to ride together is our Vail Snowmobile Rentals.
- Q: During which dates does the snowmobiling operate?
- A: The snowmobile season is entirely dependent on natural snowfall, and therefore operating dates will differ slightly from one winter season to the next. Generally speaking, snowmobiling is available from the week of Thanksgiving (or just a bit prior to) through the second week of April. Please keep in mind that this is general guidance and actual opening/closing dates may vary depending on weather patterns.
